Hogwarts Legacy 2: My Dream Wizarding World Sequel Features

The Hogwarts Legacy sequel should expand its magical creature system with beast battles, deepening gameplay and embracing the series' existing combat-focused tone.

Okay, fellow witches and wizards, let's talk about the elephant—or should I say, the Niffler—in the room. It's 2026, and while we're all still patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for official news on a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, I can't stop thinking about what I desperately want to see next. The first game was pure magic ✨—it gave us that fully-realized castle we'd dreamed of since we were kids, complete with secret passages, moving staircases, and classes that actually felt like classes. It sold over 22 million copies for a reason! But now that we've explored every nook of Hogwarts and the Scottish Highlands, what's next? For me, the answer lies with the fantastic beasts.

Remember the Room of Requirement's Vivariums? Honestly, collecting and caring for magical creatures was one of my absolute favorite parts of the game. I spent hours just hanging out with my Mooncalves and Puffskeins. But let's be real... once you had your little magical zoo set up, there wasn't a ton to do with them besides collecting materials. It felt a bit... undercooked, you know? The potential was massive, but it wasn't fully realized.

So here's my big, probably controversial, wish for the sequel: Magical Creature Battles.

Hear me out before you send a Howler my way! 🦉 I know, I know. The Harry Potter universe has a strong pro-conservation message. We love our Newt Scamanders and our Hagrids. Poppy's entire questline was about respecting nature. But let's look at what we already did in the first game. Our 15-year-old protagonist was an absolute menace.

  • We learned the Unforgivable Curses (Avada Kedavra, anyone? 😬).

  • We dueled our classmates relentlessly in Crossed Wands.

  • We roamed the countryside basically setting poachers on fire and slamming them into walls.

The game had a bit of a... tonal identity crisis. We were supposedly the 'good guy,' but the gameplay let us be dark enough to make Bellatrix Lestrange blush. So, if we've already crossed that line, why not lean into it in a fun, new way with our creatures?

How Beast Battles Could Work (& Why They'd Be Awesome):

  1. Location, Location, Location: Obviously, we wouldn't be having a Graphorn rampage in the Great Hall. These friendly spars could happen in designated arenas in the vast open world (which, let's be honest, had some empty spaces that could use some life!). Think of it as an extension of the dueling clubs.

  2. It's About Bonding, Not Brutality: Frame it as a test of skill, trust, and magical synergy between witch/wizard and beast. It's not about making them fight to the death—it's about showcasing their unique abilities in a controlled environment. Training, not tormenting.

  3. Deepen the Gameplay Loop: This would give a real purpose to breeding and raising creatures beyond cuteness. Different beasts could have different strengths, weaknesses, and special moves. Do you send in your swift Hippogriff or your tank-like Graphorn?

  4. Social & Competitive Play: Imagine challenging your friends' creatures! Or having in-game tournaments hosted by a secret beast-handling society. It would add a whole new layer of social gameplay.

Yes, it's giving Pokémon vibes, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. That formula is beloved for a reason—it's fun! And at the end of the day, fun should be the primary goal. The first game's creature mechanics were promising but lacked depth. This could be the perfect way to spice it up.

Other Features My Witchy Heart Desires:

While we're dreaming big, here's my full wishlist for Hogwarts Legacy 2:

Feature Why I Need It
Meaningful House Points & Rivalry I want the House Cup to actually MATTER! More inter-house competitions, pranks, and consequences. 🦁🐍🦡🦅
Advanced Spell Crafting/Mixing Let us experiment and create our own spell combinations. The potential for puzzle-solving and combat would be insane.
Post-Hogwarts Story What if the sequel starts after graduation? Become an Auror, a Magizoologist, or a... less-murderous curse-breaker? The world opens up!
True Companions & Relationships Give us companions with deeper stories who react to our choices (good or evil) and join us in the open world.
More Interactive Hogwarts I want to actually play Wizard's Chess, go to Hogsmeade weekends with friends, and have detention that isn't just a fetch quest.

The foundation Avalanche built is so, so strong. They gave us the ultimate Wizarding World simulator. Now, for the sequel, it's time to give us more ways to live in it, to make our own unique stories—even if that story involves cheering on my Niffler as it tries to outshine a friend's Kneazle in a friendly magical scuffle.

What's on your wishlist for the next game? Let's manifest this sequel together! ⚡ #HogwartsLegacy2 #WizardingWorld #GamingWishlist #HarryPotterGaming
